48th District:
Serving parts of Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and all of Medina, Clyde Hill, Yarrow Point and Hunts Point.

This web page is meant as a tool for citizens to get informed and involved. I hope you find it useful.

I got started in politics as a citizen activist, working to make our local schools better. The great thing about our democracy is that every citizen has the right to participate.

It's my belief that the way to restore trust and faith in government is to be much more honest and straightforward about everything we do, including the budget. I'm working to make the way we run Washington more rational and focused on our values.

Part of my job representing the citizens of the 48th District is keeping you informed about key issues. These are the issues I'm focusing on:

  • Improving our local schools, and reforming the way our schools get funded
  • Passing a balanced and sustainable budget
  • Restoring faith in government through reforms to increase accountability and efficiency

What do you think? Please take a moment to send me a quick e-mail, or to call my office.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Ross Hunter

Looking Ahead to the 2009 Session:    Funding Basic Education - A Model Approach

One of the most critical investments we make as a state is educating our children. The state's Basic Education Financing Task Force is preparing to propose a new funding structure that ensures our children receive an education that prepares them for success in the 21st century. I, along with the other five legislators serving on the task force, invite you to follow our work on our blog and let us know what you think. Visit www.whatittakesforkids.com
