January 18, 2010: The Washington State PTA organized a rally at the Capitol and thousands of parents and kids turned up to demand we protect K-12 funding this session. Education funding is, and has been, my top priority as a legislator and I was proud to speak at the rally in support of their efforts.


I hosted a virtual telephone town hall on December 15, 2009. You can check out the replay here.

This web page is meant as a tool for citizens to get informed and involved. I hope you find it useful.

I got started in politics as a citizen activist, working to make our local schools better. The great thing about our democracy is that every citizen has the right to participate.

It's my belief that the way to restore trust and faith in government is to be much more honest and straightforward about everything we do, including the budget. I'm working to make the way we run Washington more rational and focused on our values.
