Thanks for stopping by our district’s photo gallery! Click on the thumbnail images to go through all photos, or look at the full gallery below.
These pictures were taken on July 7, 2007, after holding a Town Hall Meeting at the King County Water Treatment facility in Tukwila. We wanted to capture some of the geographic diversity in our district, and highlight our district’s importance in terms of transportation. As far as commerce goes, Washington State is the most trade-dependent state in the nation and the 11th district is the hub for this trade:
About 70 percent of the Port of Seattle’s containerized cargo originates in or is destined for regions of the country outside the Pacific Northwest, making Seattle a trade gateway of regional, national and international significance.
All the major railroads have their intermodal hubs located in the 11th district.
Boeing Field/King Co. International Airport is the major airfreight hub for the Pacific Northwest.
Warehousing and trucking to support all of the above are located in the 11th Legislative District throughout the Duwamish River Valley and Northern Kent Valley.
All the pictures you're about to see actually represent only about a third of the 11th Legislative District. So stay tuned, I’ll be adding more images soon.
