Welcome to my website! It's an honor to serve you, the good people of the 11th District, as your state representative. You elected me to fight for the best schools, best jobs and best health care that our society has to offer and that we all deserve.

In Olympia I will be fighting for working families, and blue, white, and pink collar workers. And I'll be working to make sure that those who are looking for good family wage jobs will be able to find them.

I'll also work hard to fix our broken health care and prescription drugs systems to make them accessible for all. Likewise, we are in a crisis situation regarding both basic and higher education which I've made a priority to fix.

The single biggest fix we can work on is fair tax reform. Regular folk, families, small businesses and fixed income households are being saddled with an ever increasingly heavy load of the tax burden due to shifts of responsibilities from corporations and the very wealthy. They need to start paying their fair share again, which will ease the burden on the rest of us. Reforming our unfair system will mean more money in the hands of those of us who will turn around and put it directly back into our local economy. This is not just a question of fairness; it's also an economic development issue.

My other priorities include:

  • Revitalizing our communities

  • Achieving open, accountable government at all levels

  • Helping citizens' voices to be heard in the important debates about our state's future

  • Making sure we get adequate resources to fund transportation and capital improvements in our 11th District.

  • Fighting to protect our civil rights and voters' rights

  • Fighting for economic and social justice

I hope you'll join me in creating a state that reflects our values. Please contact me and tell me your opinions and ideas to improve Washington.

Sincerely,
Rep. Bob Hasegawa
