While the economic feasibility of the project has always been a major concern, the DOT’s conclusions regarding the safety of the tunnel are also important.

We stand ready to work with the City of Seattle and all interested parties to improve the design of the elevated structure, and to aggressively seek transit options that will help meet current and future capacity needs. However, it is clear we must move forward now. "
